084049 HYDROGEN FLORIDE: Hydrogen Fluoride Cassette (Part Number: 084049) Applications: The Chameleon is the only hands-free, power-free, chemical detector for gases and vapors in air, allowing First Responders, Firefighters, EMS, Police Officers and Military to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals. No liquid sample required. The Chameleon may even be immersed in salt water or fresh water without affecting its performance. Developed under funding by the United States Marine Corps, the Chameleon is ideal for users to screen unknown hazards in their environment. Hydrogen fluoride (HF) is a valued source of fluorine and is the precursor to numerous pharmaceuticals such as fluoxetine (Prozac) and diverse materials such as PTFE (Teflon). It is used in oil refining, production of organofluorine compounds, production of fluorides, and as an etchant and cleaning agent. Hydrogen fluoride gas is a severe poison that may immediately and permanently damage lungs and the corneas of the eyes. Aqueous hydrofluoric acid is a contact-poison with the potential for deep, initially painless burns and ensuing tissue death. Specifications: The chemical sensor in the hydrogen fluoride cassette shows an easy to see color change. Half of the sensor window will change color.  Description Concentration Reaction Time Hydrogen Fluoride 15 ppm 3 minutes

084052 IODINE: Iodine Cassette (Part Number: 084052) Applications: The Chameleon is the only hands-free, power-free, chemical detector for gases and vapors in air, allowing First Responders, Firefighters, EMS, Police Officers and Military to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals. No liquid sample required. The Chameleon may even be immersed in salt water or fresh water without affecting its performance. Developed under funding by the United States Marine Corps, the Chameleon is ideal for users to screen unknown hazards in their environment. Exposure to iodine can occur during the manufacture of iodine compounds, germicides and antiseptics as well as in the manufacture of methamphetamines. Iodine is an irritant of the eyes, mucous membranes and skin and may cause tightening of the chest and difficult breathing. Concentrations of 1.6ppm have been shown to cause eye irritation within 5 minutes. Specifications: The chemical sensor in the iodine cassette shows an easy to see color change. Half of the sensor window will change color.  Description Concentration Reaction Time Iodine 1 ppm 5 minutes

084054 NITROGEN DIOXIDE: Nitrogen Dioxide Cassette (Part Number: 084054) Applications: The Chameleon is the only hands-free, power-free, chemical detector for gases and vapors in air, allowing First Responders, Firefighters, EMS, Police Officers and Military to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals. No liquid sample required. The Chameleon may even be immersed in salt water or fresh water without affecting its performance. Developed under funding by the United States Marine Corps, the Chameleon is ideal for users to screen unknown hazards in their environment. Nitrogen dioxide is widely used as an intermediate in nitric and sulfuric acid production. Used in the nitration of organic compounds and explosives and proposed as an oxidizing agent in rocket propulsion. Nitrogen dioxide is an insidious gas. Inflammation of lungs may cause only slight pain or pass unnoticed, but the resulting edema several days later may cause death. 100ppm is dangerous for even a short exposure and 200ppm may be fatal. Specifications: The chemical sensor in the nitrogen dioxide cassette shows an easy to see color change. Half of the sensor window will change color.  Description Concentration Reaction Time nitrogen dioxide 10 ppm <5

084060 PHOSGENE: Phosgene Cassette (Part Number: 084060) Applications: The Chameleon ® is the only hands-free, power-free, chemical detector for gases and vapors in air, allowing First Responders, Firefighters, EMS, Police Officers and Military to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals. No liquid sample required. The Chameleon may even be immersed in salt water or fresh water without affecting its performance. Developed under funding by the United States Marine Corps, the Chameleon is ideal for users to screen unknown hazards in their environment. According to a report by the United Nations Environment Program, the International Labor Organization and the World Health Organization, firefighters are at risk from phosgene formed when chlorinated hydrocarbons and PVC are heated, such as during a fire or welding process. Phosgene exposure may also occur from leaks at phosgene producing facilities or during transportation. Specifications: The chemical sensor in the phosgene cassette shows an easy to see color change. Half of the sensor window will change color.  Description Concentration Reaction Time Phosgene 1 ppm 5 minute

084061 PHOSPHINE: Phosphine Cassette (Part Number: 084061) Applications: The Chameleon is the only hands-free, power-free, chemical detector for gases and vapors in air, allowing First Responders, Firefighters, EMS, Police Officers and Military to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals. No liquid sample required. The Chameleon may even be immersed in salt water or fresh water without affecting its performance. Developed under funding by the United States Marine Corps, the Chameleon is ideal for users to screen unknown hazards in their environment. Exposure to phosphine can occur during the preparation of fumigants and flame retardants. Phosphine is widely used by the semiconductor industry as a chemical doping agent for electronic components. Phosphine is also released in the manufacture of methamphetamines. Inhalation of phosphine may cause pain in the diaphragm, nausea, and vomiting. Some effects, such as pulmonary edema, convulsions and liver injury may appear or continue to be present days after exposure. Specifications: The chemical sensor in the phosphine cassette shows an easy to see color change. Half of the sensor window will change color. Concentration Reaction Time 25 ppm 2 Minutes 0.6 ppm 12 Minutes

084065 SULFUR DIOXIDE: Sulfur Dioxide Cassette (Part Number: 084065) Applications: The Chameleon is the only hands-free, power-free, chemical detector for gases and vapors in air, allowing First Responders, Firefighters, EMS, Police Officers and Military to detect the presence of hazardous chemicals. No liquid sample required. The Chameleon may even be immersed in salt water or fresh water without affecting its performance. Developed under funding by the United States Marine Corps, the Chameleon is ideal for users to screen unknown hazards in their environment. Sulfur dioxide is widely used in bleaching and in the chemical manufacture of sulfuric acid. Additionally, it has been used as a food preservative; particularly to maintain the appearance of fruit. Sulfur dioxide is produced by combustion of coal, fuel oil, and gasoline, since these fuels contain sulfur. It is a dangerous air pollutant because of its corrosive properties; it irritates the eyes, nose, and lungs. Exposure to sulfur dioxide may irritate the lungs causing coughing and/or shortness of breath. Higher exposures may cause pulmonary edema. Specifications: The chemical sensor in the sulfur dioxide cassette shows an easy to see color change. Half of the sensor window will change color. Description Concentration Reaction Time Sulfur dioxide 50 ppm 3 minutes
