Fell Trees Quickly and Accurately with the Stalpen Tree Jack

Whether you need to support a hard-leaning tree in an emergency or add precision to your tree cutting process, the Stalpen Tree Jack can make tree care tasks safer and more efficient. By using a tree jack, the user can support the tree and accurately control the direction of its fall, reducing the risk of accidents and damage to property—without time-consuming wedging, cabling, and climbing.

Used especially in emergency situations, the tool is designed to hold and sustain a hard leaning tree.

Additional Information

The Stalpen Tree Jack is a robust forestry tool that loggers and sawyers use to support and fell trees safely and efficiently. Used especially in emergency situations, the tool is designed to hold and sustain a hard leaning tree. It can withstand heavy forces to safely support tree crown overhangs or an incorrect leaning tree and is especially reliable in unexpected wind gusts. Additionally, it is an aid to guide a tree being felled to fall in a desired path, even when the tree is not positioned in its naturally inclined direction.

The rack and pinion mechanism allows for safe forward and backward rotation of the crank at full load without the need of a manual locking device. A convenient, quick release, detachable design allows for separation into two pieces for optimal portability and stowing. Available in one model and size, with a maximum lift capacity of 2,600 kg, or 5,730 pounds. Total weight 14.5kg/32lbs.

Tree jacks

, particularly the hydraulic or mechanical variety, can be used in other heavy lifting or supportive applications where controlled, powerful force is needed. They function as a type of portable hydraulic ram or heavy-duty mechanical wedge.

Ideal for Emergencies

In emergency situations such as storms, natural disasters, or precariously fallen trees, a Stalpen Tree Jack can be a valuable tool for quickly and safely removing fallen trees or branches that may be blocking roads, homes, or other structures. The use of a tree jack can provide a controlled way to lift and move heavy objects without causing additional damage or injury.

Safe and reliable

The rack and pinion mechanism allows for safe forward and backward rotation of the crank at full load without the need for a manual locking device. The jack is also equipped with locking pins that secure the jack’s position and prevent pressure from being accidentally released.

The design of the jack allows it to withstand heavy forces and to safely support tree crown overhangs or an incorrect leaning trees. It’s especially reliable in unexpected wind gusts.

Highly portable

A quick-release, detachable design means the Stalpen Tree Jack can easily be broken down into two sections. This mobility and ease of storage makes the Stalpen well-suited to move from job to job, saving time and effort on site.

Made to last

Stalpen tree jacks made by Svedbro Smide are crafted with the same standards used in our steel wrecking bars. Strong and durable, they’re a must for anyone who wants to fell trees more safely, precisely and professionally.

Specific alternative uses include:

  • Construction: Supporting temporary walls or roofs during demolition or renovation, lifting structural beams, or positioning heavy construction materials and equipment.
  • Emergency Situations: Stabilizing heavy frames or structures during emergency operations.
  • Material Handling: Acting as general-purpose jacks for lifting heavy loads in industrial settings when other equipment is unavailable.
  • Log Handling: Beyond felling, the wedge component (or the jack itself) can be used to prevent a saw from pinching when bucking (crosscutting) trees already on the ground, or for general log lifting/rolling.
Important Safety Note: Tree jacks are designed for specific forestry applications and use in other contexts requires proper safety precautions, sound engineering judgment, and appropriate supporting materials (like cribbing) to prevent accidents or equipment failure.
