The Chicago Protective Apparel SWJ-8 is a 35-inch arc flash protection jacket with an arc rating of 8 cal/cm² (NFPA 70E Category 2). Manufactured by Chicago Protective Apparel, a division of Mechanix Wear, it is designed for upper-body defense against electrical arc flash hazards and burn injuries.
Arc Rating: 8 cal/cm² ATPV (Category 2 / CAT 2).
Material: Flame-resistant 7 oz. Indura Ultra Soft® fabric, a blend of 88% cotton and 12% nylon.
Length: 35 inches for enhanced upper-body coverage.
Standards Compliance: Fully compliant with NFPA 70E and ASTM F1506 standards.
Design Features: Features a roomy fit to slide over primary clothing, hook-and-loop (VELCRO®) front closure, barracuda-style protective collar, and protective knit wristlets.
